7th Sea is a tabletop roleplaying game of swashbuckling and intrigue, exploration and adventure, taking place on the continent of Théah, a land of magic and mystery inspired by our own Europe.

Players take on the roles of heroes thrown into global conspiracies and sinister plots, exploring ancient ruins of a race long vanished and protecting the rightful kings and queens of Théah from murderous villains. Gladiator Combat in a Mythic Age

Rome, 1253 AUC: This is not the world you know. The Republic and the Empire thrive. Arenas dot the landscape. Warriors from lands both known and unknown perform upon the sands for the chance at freedom, riches, and eternal glory. Many choose this life, some are condemned to it — they will face men, beasts, and creatures of myth, all for the favor of the crowd.

Arena Rex is a game of gladiatorial combat.  Battles of 3 to 6 combatants per side are recommended, and take approximately 30 to 40 minutes to play. Simple, intuitive rules offer myriad tactical possibilities.  Maneuver and arena terrain play key roles in the game along with a fatigue-based activation system that twists a traditional round structure in new and exciting ways.

Arena Rex is a miniatures line that features high quality 35mm gladiators, and encompasses not just classic styles, but much of the ancient world.  Gladiators train together in ludi; the classic styles of Ludus Magnus compete with more exotic fighters from farther afield.  Anachronisms are present and intentional — the ability to combine the best aspects of disparate things is just as important as unity of purpose, and this is reflected in Arena Rex not just aesthetically, but mechanically.  Players can choose gladiators freely, whether for their look, their playstyle, or because of unique benefits and synergies within a given ludus.

Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator

Description: Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator is a multiplayer co-operative spaceship simulation game created by Thomas Robertson for Windows, iOS, and Android devices. The game is designed for between 3 to 6 players per bridge, with each player using a separate computer that provides a different spaceship bridge station, such as helm control or engineering. We will have two bridges for head-to-head and cooperative games. (Computers provided.)

Battletech Boot Camp:
Battletech Bootcamp is an introductory game. Perfect for new players, even those without miniature or tabletop experience.
This demonstration is an hour long event that will introduce players to the Battletech universe and the tabletop game. The first 40 minutes or so of the event walks you through this information and the first few turns of the game, then you play the rest of the hour out while GMs are available to help and answer questions. This is the ideal starting point for new players to both Battletech or even the hobby of tabletop/miniature type games. Once you have completed this event players are encouraged to keep learning by playing in the Battletech Grinder. This event teaches you the current full rules of Battletech found in the rulebook Total Warfare. All supplies will be provided.

Battletech Grinder is a progressive free-for-all Battlemech combat, designed to transition players from the introductory scenario to the full scope and technology of the Battletech Total Warfare Core rule set.
Players begin with a light Battlemech, equipped with the most basic weapons.  When that unit is destroyed in combat, the player re-enters the Grinder with a more powerful Battlemech equipped with more advanced weapons and new equipment, and this continues until the player commands the most advanced and deadly units in the game.   Players can play as long as they wish, leave, and return during the scheduled event listing if they wish due to the continuous nature of the Grinder. Grinder can accommodate from 2 to 14 players. All materials are provided.

The Cults of Elemental Evil brought incredible destruction down on the city of Mulmaster. In its hour of need, Mulmaster received aid from an unlikely source- the Mageocracy of Thay, ruled by the lich Szazz Tam. With Mulmaster moving ever closer to Thay’s orbit and strife brewing within the Factions for action, the hour is ripe for conflict. A four-hour Epic adventure for characters level 1-20. The results of this single run event at Origins will change the campaign forever.

 

Dresden Seasons of Winter

Winter will not relinquish its hold on the seasons and the White Council of Wizards is hosting talks to convince the Winter Court of the Fey to allow the seasons to change.  Standing guard at the doors of the conference to keep out uninvited parties are Wardens of the White Council, each a powerful wizard, capable of unleashing terrible elemental energies on any who oppose them.  But this is a diplomatic conference.  Can the Wardens keep the peace without starting a war?

Description: The Pathfinder Society is a globe-spanning organization based out of Absalom, the world’s largest city. The membership consists primarily of Pathfinders, adventurers who travel throughout Golarion—usually inconspicuously—and explore, delve, and otherwise experience the lesser-seen parts of the world. They send journals documenting their travels back to their venture-captain, who also assigns them new missions and suggests new places to explore. The most exciting and illuminating of these journals are compiled in the Pathfinder Chronicles, an ongoing series of books which collect the history and mystery of Golarion for their membership.

Seven Wonders

Saturday: 3PM-6PM

You are the leader of one of the 7 great cities of the Ancient World. Gather resources, develop commercial routes, and affirm your military supremacy. Build your city and erect an architectural wonder which will transcend future times.

7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, players receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, paying resources if needed or collecting resources or interacting with other players in various ways. (Players have individual boards with special powers on which to organize their cards, and the boards are double-sided). Each player then chooses another card from the deck they were passed, and the process repeats until players have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends.

In essence, 7 Wonders is a card development game. Some cards have immediate effects, while others provide bonuses or upgrades later in the game. Some cards provide discounts on future purchases. Some provide military strength to overpower your neighbors and others give nothing but victory points. Each card is played immediately after being drafted, so you’ll know which cards your neighbor is receiving and how his choices might affect what you’ve already built up. Cards are passed left-right-left over the three ages, so you need to keep an eye on the neighbors in both directions.

Though the box of earlier editions is listed as being for 3–7 players, there is an official 2-player variant included in the instructions.

Warlord Miniatures Test of Honor

Description:

Test of Honour is a skirmish wargame played with roughly 5-20 models on each side. Players select their force before each game based around a samurai hero along with one or two loyal samurai companions and a variety of clan soldiers.

Battles are swift and bloody as players alternate acting with one of their warriors – moving and fighting to achieve the objective of the scenario, whether that be cutting down the enemy, defending an outpost or finding and protecting a spy.

As you play through the scenarios your samurai will use new skills, and perhaps even take the shameful path of deceit and trickery to gain victory – such choices are the ultimate test of honour.

Firefly Board Game

Saturday: 3PM-6PM

Players begin with a ship, and travel from planet to planet, hiring crew, purchasing ship upgrades, and picking up cargo to deliver (jobs) all in the form of cards. Some crew and cargo are illegal, and can be confiscated if your ship is boarded by an alliance vessel. Travelling from planet to planet requires turning over “full burn” cards, one for each space moved. Most do nothing, but you can also encounter an Alliance ship, have a breakdown, or even run into Reavers. Completing jobs gets you cash. First player to complete the story goals wins.

In Firefly: The Game – based on the popular Firefly television series created by Joss Whedon – players captain their own Firefly-class transport ship, traveling the ‘Verse with a handpicked crew of fighters, mechanics and other travelers. As a captain desperate for work, players are compelled to take on any job — so long as it pays. Double-dealing employers, heavy-handed Alliance patrols, and marauding Reavers are all in a day’s work for a ship’s captain at the edge of the ‘Verse. Firefly: The Game is a high-end thematic tabletop boardgame from Gale Force Nine (GF9) and the first in a series of tabletop hobby board games and miniatures games from GF9 set in the Firefly Universe.

With tabletop gaming rooms at conventions around the nation experiencing a renaissance of sorts, it is no surprise that one of the most notorious classic games is back in the spotlight. Ranked alongside greats such as Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, Axis and Allies, Risk, and Mousetrap — Electronic Dream Phone is in the throes of full resurgence. Competitive tournament play heating up from coast to coast. The crew of SUPER! BitCon, always with an ear to the ground for trends on the cusp of going mainstream, has stepped up to ensure a robust Electronic Dream Phone presence is felt in the gaming room at SoonerCon 27. Join us Saturday, June 23rd at 10PM in the SoonerCon game room for Electronic Dream Phone competitive play. Space is limited, cocktails encouraged for those 21+. Location subject to change due to space/table constraints, check with game room staff for exact location.

COMPETITIVE PLAY RULES

_Setup_
To begin the game press the New Game button on the phone and place it in the tray in the center of the gameboard. Give each player one Speakerphone, Share A Secret and Mom Says Hang Up! card and place any extras back into the game box. Shuffle the photo cards and deal three faceup to each player. Place the rest of the photo cards facedown into the draw section of the tray.

_Gameplay_
A player’s turn consists of four steps:

1. Pick one of your photos cards that you want to call.
2. Call the number printed on the card.
3. Eliminate potential secret admirers based on the information gained from the boy you called.
4. Discard the photo card that you called and draw a new card from the draw pile. If you draw the card of a boy that you have already called, place that card at the bottom of the draw pile and draw a new card.
Each time a player calls one of the boys, they will get information about what does not pertain to the secret admirer. Some of the boys won’t give you any relevant information.

_Call Boy in Dream Phone_
When a player calls a boy they should mark it off on their clue sheet so they don’t call the same boy another time. The type of clue that a boy will give you is dependent on where their name is located on the clue sheet.

_Clue Sheet in Dream Phone_
After receiving a clue from one of the boys you need to cross off the boys that the clue eliminated. Players look at the gameboard for information about each boy to determine which can be eliminated. Each boy is represented on the gameboard by the silhouette that their picture is underneath. Relevant information for that boy is colored in on the picture so anything that is in black are not relevant clues.

_Relevant Clues in Dream Phone_
Occasionally you will receive a call from your friend that will tell you one of the boys that are not your secret admirer. When these calls come all of the players mark them down on their clue sheets. If the friend says it is not Bob though she could be lying since Bob is her ex-boyfriend.

Each player gets three special cards at the beginning of the game that gives you a special ability. A player must play their card after a player has announced who they are going to call but before they begin calling them. The first card played in front of the current player is the card that is used and any other cards that a player wanted to play are returned to them.

The speakerphone card forces the current player to put the phone on speakerphone which means that all of the players will hear the clue given by that boy. When a speakerphone card is played the player must press the speaker button (0 button) before dialing the rest of the number. Once the card has been played it is removed from the game.
The Share A Secret card forces the current player to share the clue with the player who played the card. The boy is called like normal but the phone is held so both the current player and the player who played the card gets to hear the clue. After the card is played it goes to the player who had to share the clue so they can use it on a future turn.

The Mom Says Hang Up card is used as a card to make the current player lose their turn. This card can be played at any time and makes the current player unable to call a boy or make a guess of the secret admirer. Once the card has been played, it is removed from the game.

_Winning the Game_
When a player thinks that they know who the secret admirer is, they can make a guess. Before revealing who they are guessing, they need to allow other players to play their Mom Says Hang Up cards. If no one plays one of the cards, the player reveals their guess to the other players. The card corresponding to the guess is found. If the card is owned by another player, that player draws a new card to replace the card that is taken. To make a guess the player presses the guess button (# button) and then dials the boy’s number. If the player guessed right, that player wins the game. If they guessed incorrectly, the game continues like normal with the player who made the incorrect guess still in the game.

 

Star Trek RPG

Starfleet needs a new crew…and it can be you. Star Fleet Adventures, using Modiphius’ critically acclaimed 2d20 system, is the latest Star Trek system and possibly the best.

 

Join the crewof the USS Bellerophon as she journeys tbrough Klingon space on her way to her new assignment at Station 364, otherwise known as Natendra station, to explore the Shackleton exspanse. Just a simple cruise through space…or is it.

Flames of War

Flames of War is a World War II tabletop game where you use armies represented by painted miniature tanks, soldiers, artillery, and aircraft against another similar opponent’s force.

To begin all you need is the Flames of War book/rules and a starting force of miniatures depending on what type of army you want to collect.

The game uses 15mm scale (around 1:100) miniatures, allowing miniatures from other manufacturers to be used. The game aspires to provide a good balance between playability and simulation and has a typical game running under 2 hours.
